holiday : snow in the city + santa
Hi Everyone -
Friends, Romans, Countryman lend me your warm coats and sweaters! It's freakin' cold in NYC for under dressed city slickers. It snowed yesterday and we went to Central Park to take some pictures. Before long, Scott was on verge of a midlife crisis because the clothes that kept him warm last year weren't getting it done this year. And, I was convinced I needed knee and hip replacements from the cold. But, we carried on right over to The Plaza Hotel where we spotted a certain someone looking very jolly and bright. Hope you're having a wonderfully warm weekend!
xo, Cindy
Central Park.
Squirrel noshing.
Love these wooden huts.
Central Park Zoo.
Just hanging on.
Garish in gold.
Civilization!
Snack at Danku.
Now, that's a candy cane!
The Plaza Hotel - Eloise, please.
Santa and his body guard.
After a rest in The Plaza Hotel followed by a run in the Apple Store and FAO Schwarz (trust me, it's on the right side with the tiny banner), Santa hops into his limo and is off to your town. See, no worries - 'world financial crisis' means nothing to Santa!
Love the pictures! Makes me feel like I am in NYC instead of a small town in Ohio:) The snow makes everything beautiful doesn't it?! We got some snow as well but mostly ice! Snow is way prettier!
ReplyDeletethanks, michelle! yes, the snow makes all the grit go away, for a while. this snow is pretty icy and really cold. it was such a cloudy day and there's more snow on the way. i bet ohio is so pretty, too.
ReplyDeletei really want to take pics of the tree houses in madison square park. maybe, monday?
Despite the freeeeezing weather, your day looks warm and sunny. What a wonderful time of year to live in THE city.
ReplyDeleteit's SO PRETTY! i really miss the snow living in georgia sometimes-- it doesn't really feel like christmas without it. but my mom said it was -9 degrees in boulder the other day (where i used to live), and i can do without that!
ReplyDeletegreat tour around NYC! i'll take that snack at danku :)
ReplyDeletechristmas in nyc is the best! i wish i could go every year....thanks for sharing the pics
ReplyDeleteFAB photos! I long to be there! ENJOY your weekend! Fifi
ReplyDeleteyou know what? sometimes, i can't believe i live here. although a beautiful state, i'm so grateful that scott saved me from the small, non-descript new jersey town i grew up in and brought me to a sweet little town in the big city.
ReplyDeleteThe cold was so worth it from our point of view...just so beautiful...oh and thanks for the important info about santa....b will be happy to know his scooter should make it on time even if santa has to summon his private jet. xo t
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures of NYC in the snow. I think there is something especially beautiful about cities in the snow. All the angles are softened. A big snow makes for some interesting peaks and valleys also!
ReplyDeleteyes, love the pictures especially of central park.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable is that squirrel? It's unseasonably cold here and I'm definitely feeling like it'd be worth it to have some severe weather gear--even if I only break it out once in a while!
ReplyDeletelovely photos of central park in winter!! and, your squirrel photo is so much better than the one i posted yesterday!!!!!
ReplyDeletethese are such beautiful photographs! since it's not that cold in L.A., it was fun to see these :)

ReplyDeleteThese photos are fantastic, Cindy! Especially the squirrel. I'm missing NYC a lot right now. I'm home sick, working, and stranded because my car is in the shop. If I were at my old apartment, I could walk down the block and get some hot cocoa. :(
ReplyDeleteok, I think you need to elaborate on that snack!
ReplyDeletea wish come true. photos of nyc in the snow. just beautiful. thank you.
