life : give some thanks

cindy's bro & charlie's sis. aren't they awesome?

life isn't always easy. there are ups and downs. i suppose we wouldn't recognize one without the other? one thing i'm thankful for is having a nice husband who buys me flowers even though i say 'no, thank you.' he couldn't resist the color. so sweet.

and, thanks to all of you for joining us over here on quaint. it means the world to us and we're grateful. pj sent us the nicest award about blog friendship and i'd like to share it with all of you. thank you, pj!

we're getting our small posse together for thanksgiving. i wish more family members would have visited charlie this year. oh well, there's always christmas. hope you all have a wonderful holiday and weekend. see you next week!

xo, cindy

ps we're going to train show at the new york botanical garden this weekend, which is really neat. of course i'll show you photos. try and stop me ;).

  1. what a lovely color of pink in the center of those creamy roses. your photo is so vivid, i can almost smell them.

the smile on your brother's face is priceless. in most of my childhood photos i have a gigantic goofy grin. i see the same kind of smile in childhood photos of my daughter and now photos of her daughter jenna. it's reassuring to know that some things never change.

have a wonderful holiday! looking forward to seeing your photos of the garden!

  10. Wonderful, wonderful photos. I love old photos in black and white. And your husband was absolutely right in buying those roses. The colors are amazing in them.

Again, my eyes were wide with wonder and glee going over your photos. The Shadow Knows? Hahahha, how many people actually remember that? teehee. And the Brooklyn Flea! Fantastic.

But wait! Did you say something about an etsy shop??? I will have to come back and nab one of your butterfly garlands for sure.

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving. Stuff yourselves silly and have a wonderful, warm time.

  12. I love the old photos, Cindy, but they're giving me a sense that you two are my age...or closer to my age than my children's age....

Care to shed some light on that?!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  16. I love the old photographs. There's something with old photographs, something we can't seem to reproduce in the digital camera era - I guess it has to do with the fact that people used to take less photographs back then...
Your flower shots on the other hand are hard to beat! Love the roses!
