my nikon d60 broke yesterday - something with the shutter. it's a few years old and i use it almost all of the time. it's not fancy as far as dslrs go, but i love that camera. it feels so comfortable. i knew this could (would) happen and i really need it now for our shop. fortunately, i have the extended service warranty and registered it, so it shouldn't really cost us anything other than postage to repair, but it will probably take a month by the time they get it in the mail, fix it and send it back.
now, i just have a canon powershot s90, which is a kind of fancy point & shoot camera. you can put it on manual and adjust all of the settings, which sounds great but i never seem to get a nice depth of field out of it and there is no viewfinder. it does have image stabilization plus it's really small, so that should be nice. we'll see. i'm not complaining, i'm just saying. change can be a bummer, especially when you don't initiate it.
xo, cindy
ps i did receive kinfolk magazine yesterday and it was most welcome. it makes me want to cook something, invite some friends over and take photos of it all. perfect :).

I know what you mean Cindy, by the way these two shots are great the second looks amazing I love the way you frame it"!!
I'm sorry about your camera. Hopefully it won't take too long. I have been thinking of getting the magazine. I will have to order when I get back home. xo
I would cry if my D60 broke. Super big tears.
But consider it a challenge while it's gone.
Cindy- first I am jealous of your whites in your photos because they are stunning. :)
You might want to try a local place- same thing happened to my good ol' cannon and I had mine fixed for $50 but that's Oregon prices but you might want to check with a local camera shop.
awwww man, huge bummer on the busted camera. it'll all be ok. hang in there!
i've been following kinsfolk's blog, i imagine the printed version is dreamy!
Hi Cindy, Your photo of Kinfolk is so perfect. I recently found them, and they are just so lovely. Hope you are well. Asya
Your poor camera - hope it is fixed quickly
thanks you guys ... i mean, worse things can happen, i know. enjoy your weekend!
so sorry about your camera my friend :( you know... sometimes the changes that turn out the very best, are the ones we are forced into... just a thought.
love your sweet vignette w/ the Kinfolk magazine :)
Love those tea cups. Hope you are able to fix your camera soon.
Oh no, what a pain that your camera broke! But sounds like things will be back to normal soon :) It is quite a change when you go from using a nice nikon to a powershot...hope they're quick with fixing it :)
And by the way, your first photo is really making me want a cup of tea right about now...it all looks so pleasant and lovely.
My Nikon d90 has had issues too. It started out pretty much right away. I finally sent it in to be looked at, and they were extremely rude when I tried to get info from them. I followed everything to the letter, stapled the receipt with the work order etc. I got a note back saying they were going to charge me 200 dollars to fix it, because I didn't send the receipt. I almost lost it, since I was so careful packing it and making sure all the paperwork was together. How could they lose it when it was stapled to the darn work order!!!! I had to go back to Best buy and have them issue me another receipt.
I hope they don't do something like this to you, and you get your beloved camera back soon.
hope your camera is well again! missing your photos :)
