we also saw some bits of red at the new york botanical garden this weekend (i should really work there, already), including a lovely red rose. it's hard to believe thanksgiving is next week and how this year seems to be flying, or is it me? starting a new year means starting a new calendar and jen has a nice wrap-up of some beauties, which reminds me to get busy on ours.
xo, cindy
these are so beautiful Cindy...a sad state of affairs that i haven't been back here in so long...it looks even lovelier than the way I left it! I hope you're well!!
ReplyDeletehow wonderful that you are still seeing red! we seem to be in the greys and browns until snow falls...
ReplyDeleteA rose that refuses to believe it is autumn. Glorious! I think the leaves are showing off just for you. :)
ReplyDeleteMany people believe that patches of shade in their gardens are doomed to dullness, but that's not true at all. There are many plants that love to grow in a shade garden.Symphyandra grows in either sun or shade and also can handle very dry and hot weather without looking the least bit wilted. It is almost annual-like in its period of bloom - once it starts at the end of June. I have blossoms often right into September. It's an easy germinator and will reward you with lots of flowers with hardly any effort at all - what could be better?
ReplyDeleteyes! yes! the second half of 2011 is going by at an insane rate. you're not a lone!
ReplyDeletelovely shots as always :)
