fun | people who need people
saw the painter at the high line during my meet-up with
sweet jen and her friends. i've seen him before.
the little photographer was at rockefeller center.
hello, hello! well, we never made it to coney island, but we did see the henri cartier-bresson exhibit at moma for a second time and it was really something. he was a master at catching candid & interesting shots from everyday life and his photos made me smile and cry at the same time. i'd love to capture people in my photos more often, but it's not so easy if they don't co-operate ;). hope you had a great weekend!
xo, cindy
ps i'm going back to simpler days around here with no more frames or fancy layouts - i think. maybe not!
some people hide behind props, including my own family - look at charlie hiding from the 'sun' in long island city. a bicycle can work, too.
while others put it all out there in the brooklyn botanic garden, or playing ping pong at bryant park.
me too in new betz white kicks. sweeeet!

Thanks for the luck, I've been keeping our move kind of hush hush, terrified and thrilled at the same time! Hopefully this will mean more trips to nyc!

jamie - you will love it and i have monet on my list.
lenore - and not feel self-conscious.
line - the show was so busy scott and a lot of other people looked at the exhibit catalog. you might find it in a library. photos are great that way.
elizabeth - i can imagine you with a pair.
a - i hope there's not a photo of me somewhere ;)! i have a few more things up my sleeve as there were no flowers this weekend! well, almost none.
I love the people photos of the chair and bicycle, so fun! They sure do feel like summer.
And I have to agree with everyone else - those are fantastic shoes.
Hope you're enjoying the warm weather in the glorious nyc. I love visiting nyc - there's always so much inspiration from that colorful city!
mmmmmm... new york weekends, i love seeing them through your eyes!
I need a pair of those shoes - adorable. As is the little photographer.
Those sneakers are incredible, Cindy! I love all the photos! So warm and sunny. Charlie looks adorable--I'm sure he wouldn't think so, but I think he does!
That kid with the camera is so cute!! And so are your shoes!! Cool!
Nope, you can't feel sad walking in those shoes!
How I love candid shots! When I got married, I told the photographer I didn't want many posed photos, just lots and lots of candids. I love yours! I have to admit, I'm one of those chronic prop users.
Once, when I was teaching a class at NYU, I took photos of all my students so I could learn their names. But one goth chick told me that she punched the last person who took her picture, so..... I've since forgotten her name.
all the shoe love - they are great and make me feel like a surfer chic!
megan - it is fun here if you can enjoy it.
jen - you'll be back before you know it.
jamie - he was cute, but not sure he could work the camera and hope not!
julia - charlie could have had a seat in a red adirondack chair, but chose to go off by himself. we turned around and he had his jacket on his head. parents!
pascale - he was cute and facing me!
bella - too bad for ms. whats her name!
Oh Cindy..... that shot of sweet Charlie is PRICELESS. PRICELESS! I think that one is actually frame-worthy :)
And my eyeballs nearly popped outta my head when I saw your Betz White shoes!!! LUCKY!!! It's a good thing we don't live closer - I would actually stoop to stealing them ;)
xoxo
Great shots. I really like the one of the older man covering his head with his jacket. Photographing people (other than my children) intimidates me. And yet I would love to have the guts to do it more often.
Oh I just love looking at your photos! Such eye candy! Love the shoes also, they are so summery!
Cindy, I just love this post. You see things through a sweet lens. The world needs more Cindy's!!!!
