life : extreme sports

commercial : to their moms, they'll always be kids
this one makes me teary-eyed every time, especially the luger

hi folks! well, it seems i've been rendered useless this week. except for some laundry duty, i've turned into a couch potato. each afternoon instead of turning on the computer, i turn on the tv to watch my new favorite extreme sport - curling! i say extreme because i'm either on the edge of my seat hoping that stone/rock goes where it should or in a vegetative state due to the slow, methodical pace.

the guys from norway have the best argyle pants and i predict the next time you see curling, like in 2014 olympics, they all will be dressed quite fashionably - curling by ralph lauren or marc jacobs.

i did manage to pick up some tulips for the weekend, but i'm heading back to the sofa. did you see the skiing and those wipe-outs? whoa! brings back some unhappy memories for me for sure, although i was probably going a lot slower. enjoy your weekend! no wipe-outs!

xo, cindy

ps we're also looking forward to the new ricky gervais show tonight on hbo. more tv!

That's about what I've done this week too...laundry. I did see a little skiing...those wipe-outs were incredible. Brave athletes, that's what they are! Happy weekend to you :)

Cindy, I love the tulips!!! Awesome! Would you like to have your photography featured on my blog one Friday in the spring? I need 12 to 15 shots and whatever you want readers to know about you. Think about it. I hesitate to ask because not everyone is interested. You won't offend me if you want to pass.

Curling is the funniest thing ever!! I just don't have the patience to watch it though I must say.

I wish I had HBO, so I could watch the Ricky Gervais show!Love that man.

Go on You tube and watch him do a stand up routine on the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme. I die every time :)

curling puts me in the laziest mood, but i think it's really hard. takes a lot of finesse. if i don't get on the business end of the broom very soon there will be hell to pay around this place as the dust is thickening as we speak or i write ;).

i will put my thinking cap on pj and thank you very much for the invite. your features are always wonderful!

I don't completely understand Curling, but I've found myself watching it too. Love Norway's pants and the fact that one of the women competing is 5 months pregnant.

oh my gosh you're so funny! you're the only person i know of who likes curling. i think i would enjoy it more if i knew what they heck they were trying to accomplish ;)

don't worry, i still think you're cool! ;) teehehehe only because you bought tulips, my favorite!

they're trying to get a stone closer to the center of the ring than the other team. who thinks up these things and using brooms? i love how they move around the other stones without touching them or falling on their butts!

it reminds me of shuffleboard and i wonder why that's not in the summer games. then, senior citizens could compete, too ;)!

I just read an article about curling! Apparently, they sprinkle the ice with drops of water which form ice bumps. These ice bumps slow down the stones and make them go off course. That's where the brooms come in. Apparently, sweeping causes friction, which heats up the ice bumps enough to make the stones travel smoother and straighter. Viola!

Watching TV is my favorite sport. I could medal in it.

The Olympics is o.k Canada will keep faith no matter what and yes I saw the guys from Norway in curling so so cool!!!!!!

thank you bella! the other day a stone went completely off course because a hair was on the ice, a broom hair.

don't give up on the candian hockey team, line. miracles do happen and the candian curling teams are kicking butt, including the usa ;)!
