life : brunch & a stroll

Dressler
delicately designed metal work reminiscent of lace.

jess had a post on friday that included a quote from esther hicks about only doing things that make you feel good. if we could live that way life would be simpler. our choices would be obvious. i'm clear about my values - knowledge, love & authenticity, but sometimes i go along with things that don't make me feel good. it's frustrating and maybe the hardest part is changing my mind about those situations? if it were only so simple.

well, until i sort it out, here are some photos of a few things that do make me feel good. a delicious brunch in dressler and a stroll with the husband in williamsburg, brooklyn for we love brooklyn week. hope you have a feel good day!

xo, cindy

ps we fell in love with the show cake boss this weekend and stayed up way past our bedtime. fourth generation baker buddy and his awesome (he uses that word, a lot) italian familia from hoboken, nj make some pretty incredible looking cakes. there was a moving robot cake and one for dylan's candy bar that was fuggetaboutit! we think yous might love it, too.

Dressler
the chandeliers are cool.

Dressler
yum + yum = yum.

Hay & Barbed Wire
marlow's tiny haystack & morning glory covered barbed wire.

Shoes & Bridge
would you like those shoes in black or black? scott pointed out the shadow of people going over the williamsburg bridge. thank you!

I do so much relate with what you wrote. Life could/would be so much simpler...
And I love your pictures. The first set and the last one are my favorites. The way you captured that chair! And the shoe - shadow one (great spotting, Scott!) is so well brought together! Nice!

Doing only the things that make me feel good has been my motto since September. It's surprisingly difficult to let go of those other things... thank you for a wonderful quote, Cindy.

The flower-covered barb wire just made my day! It's such a beautiful, natural juxtaposition.

What a wise way to live life -- only doing what makes us feel good morally and soulfully. Thank you for sharing the food for thought Cindy!

yum is right, and your shoe pose with the graffiti in the background needs to go in a magazine.

based on your advice, there is a LOT of handwashing going on at my house ;)

If you read my latest post, you will see how after 27 years of putting up with my in-law shenanigans, we decided that we would never celebrate Thanksgiving or any other holiday. It feels great actually :)

Caitlin and I got so hooked on "Cake Boss" too!! So entertaining!

What a great flavor you brought to us via I Love Brooklyn Week! I think my favorite was the delicate metal work that looks like lace on that gorgeous chandelier!

But I just GOTTA say, I love the show Cake Boss too! It just cracks me up! Ace of Cakes is still my fave, but Cake Boss with Buddy's familia and all their shenanigans is a very close second!

xoxo
