pics : five senses
Scent : Chamomile Flowers
Sight : Vintage Glasses
Sound : My Flute from High School
Taste : Strawberry Scone & Coffee
Touch : Vintage Typewriter
Hi Everyone -
These are the photos I chose for the final project in my photography class. As I mentioned, I decided to do the five senses, which is fairly broad. I narrowed it down a bit by using mostly vintage items in styled-shots. As much as I love flowers, scent was the hardest. I hope I pulled it off ;)?
I really enjoyed this project and by no means am I done with it. I think I'll always have the senses in mind from now on. I'd love to do a series outdoors and on the lookout for kids eating ice cream, standing in the rain, or fields of flowers as some of you suggested.
We're off to the beach this weekend, so we'll see you next week. Have fun and enjoy it will all of your senses!
xo, Cindy
PS I did make at least a couple of mistakes with these like forgetting to take the polarizing filter off for a few - yikes! Sometimes, I just get too excited. Sounds like an idea for a checklist ;).

i so like each shot as an individual image, cindy! but they make an even more delightful grouping with a wonderful feeling of continuity. so that's what chamomile looks like!!
I have so much to learn...I don't even know what a polarizing filter is! I love the photos you ended up taking. They are so pretty...I think maybe my favorite is the scone, for all its color. But each of them is really creative...like the vintage glasses and the typewriter--I can feel it and hear the clicking keys! Congrats, C:)
love these! those polarizing filters are so tricky...i'm only good at using them when looking at the ocean, otherwise i get all confused and they make my photos look too dark (darn it all!). your photos all look perfect to me though. i especially love the scone--mostly because it looks so delicious!
this is a stunning series and honestly i'm having a hard time picking a favorite. i guess it would have to be a tie between the map/vintage glasses and the scone/coffee. what a talent you have for capturing what you see. pure beauty.
i love the taste- that strawberry table cloth is awesome!
Have a great time at the beach!!
your work is really wonderful! the flute picture says so much. you are inspiring me to pick up the camera and start shooting.
Oh I just love them all!
i really love how this turned out. wonderfully done. your photography is getting more and more amazing.
Such fun, they are gorgeous shots!! The chamomile is my favorite, but of course the typewriter is a close second.
They turned out so, so well! I love all your vintage pieces--they're so charming. But, the fun thing about you and these pieces--you use them!
Have a wonderful time at the beach!
They are all *BEAUTIFUL*. The colors are sooo perfect.
beautiful photos! i'm so glad you left me a comment so i could find your blog! i'm looking forward to going through all your photography tips. what a resource!
I may or may not have stolen your typewriter... LOL... FAB photos!!!
ENJOY your day!

The pictures are lovely - my absolutely favorite one is the typewriter one - I love those blue tones in it combined with the pink flowers, the matching pink-blue eraser...
Great composition!!
Have a wonderful time at the beach!!
thanks everyone! i'm a little bit nervous about showing them in class as i'm the only one who does photo-styling. everyone seems to love pics of kids and at night time.
These are absolutely gorgeous. I've been reading through all of your tutorials and...wow...I am AMAZED at your technical know-how!!
thank you, mary! as far as the technical stuff, i'm kind of like a parrot repeating what we learned in class, but i'm getting there.
You pulled this off with flying colors!!!! Well done. LUV!!
Oh Cindy these are really good! If I were your teacher I give you an A+ Have a golden weekend! xoxo

Beautifully done!
I love your new banner, too. I was just admiring the scent of the chamomile that's found its way into the crevices of my walkway. I can't bear to pull it out.

Fabulous way to celebrate your senses!
Beautiful composition darling!!
~XO*
your blog is just devine! i can't wait to keep reading your posts. <3
The pictures are beautiful! I've been doing a photography class too and it's always interesting to work on a particular theme. By the way you already learnt much more than I did with your polarization filter mistakes... I mean: I didn't even learn what a polarization filter is used for during my class (or maybe I didn't pay enough attention and missed it! ;))
Those are really nice Cindy, great job.
lovley cindy...they are all so ethereal...
Great concept and wonderful results. The typewriter and flute really get me...love the compositions and colors. Congrats!
Cindy, I feel that I have missed so much while I was away! I really admire the photos in your senses series. Of course the vintage treasures call to me, but how you have captured the details is splendid. It's wonderful that you have your flute from high school!
That typewriter is so fantastic!
What awesome, amazing photos. Wow Cindy. I can't wait to try some of your techniques and tips...Not so patiently waiting to get my DSLR!
Well done!
