Hydrangeas

i love hydrangeas. they are old-fashioned, showy and come in the most beautiful colors. these are all on one block in our neighborhood and i'm glad (amazed) people don't snip, snip, snip them at night.

ps have you seen minato's photographs? she lives in japan and her photos are wonderful. she always captures a really nice balance of saturated color and softness. this one is wow!

I love these! Did you know the intensity of the color of hydrangeas comes from the Ph of the soil?

i love hydrangeas from afar...

when i moved into my little house, the entire west side of the yard was lined with out-of-control hydrangea bushes. and they were not pretty. my bf at the time helped me cut them down, and then we had to use pick axes to dig out the root balls. it took all summer!

i enjoyed your photos, and will leave the planting of hydrangeas to others. :)
