Red Rose
Hedges

we also saw some bits of red at the new york botanical garden this weekend (i should really work there, already), including a lovely red rose. it's hard to believe thanksgiving is next week and how this year seems to be flying, or is it me? starting a new year means starting a new calendar and jen has a nice wrap-up of some beauties, which reminds me to get busy on ours.

A rose that refuses to believe it is autumn. Glorious! I think the leaves are showing off just for you. :)

Many people believe that patches of shade in their gardens are doomed to dullness, but that's not true at all. There are many plants that love to grow in a shade garden.Symphyandra grows in either sun or shade and also can handle very dry and hot weather without looking the least bit wilted. It is almost annual-like in its period of bloom - once it starts at the end of June. I have blossoms often right into September. It's an easy germinator and will reward you with lots of flowers with hardly any effort at all - what could be better?
