BLOG | MOVING

From the Bottom Chess Mates Gothic Lighting

how many times have you read this lately, or maybe even written it?

wow, i didn't intend to take such a long blog break. i've been [fill in the blank], but hope to get back to regularly posting from now on.

me, too. i'm not sure what has happened to blogging in general (could it really be twitter & instagram?), but for me after charlie passed away almost a year ago my heart just wasn't in 'quaint handmade' anymore. it felt like this chapter had come to a close, but i really enjoy making friends through our blog and the thought of ending it made me very sad. we've been through a lot together over the years and this space has always been important to us.

so, i was thinking maybe we can just move our bloghouse to another location to see what it's like? i've recently set-up a new blog on tumblr that will pretty much contain the same content just in a new setting. and, although i love my iphone, it's mostly going to be photos using my regular camera because i saw a big difference in quality when putting together our 2012 blurb book. i really hope you will visit us there for our next chapter, which i hope will involve actually traveling someplace on a plane for the first time in many years :).

xo, cindy

ps the photos were taken at the park avenue armory earlier this month when we visited
ann hamilton's event of a thread, which was very cool.

Hi Cindy! I am in the same boat with my blog, too much going on to blog consistently! I will check out your new tumblr blog of course:) I have been very curious about tumblr, you will have to let me know how you like it! Good luck with the new location, sometimes a change is good.

I will go for a visit. I'm finding that it is getting harder and harder to blog these days. I plan to hang in there with it, because it is still my scrapbook of sorts for the year. I never think I have very much, until December rolls around, and I start looking back.
This was my original intent for my blog, even though I am finding it harder and harder to post.
I think instagram is killing the blog world, because of the desire for instant, instead of taking more time to write and do meaningful posts. I myself am guilty of it I must say.

I do miss all of your crisp clear pictures on a bigger format, so It will be lovely to see on tumbler. I guess I have to get an account now, since it won't let me comment until you do.
See you over there!

sometimes it's just about changing the environment even if all the furniture remains the same and it feels like you're starting all over.

Happy to visit your new place...but have to say a bit sad to let this one go. I can completely relate to your take on the landscape of blogging having changed over the last year or so. I've gotten a little sad at times as I think of all the relationships fostered through this digital medium..and how it's 'golden age' may be over. But who knows, what is old is new again. Looking forward to seeing where this new journey leads!

Cindy! I have sooo much catching up to do! BUT... the first thing I must say is I SO UNDERSTAND! I've been having the hardest time putting my heart into my own beloved blog and have been sporadic at best. I have ALSO been fooling w/ a Tumblr and have decided by Feb. that most of the things I post/want to say will be through my Tumblr. We are definitely joined at the hip, even on 2 different coasts :) I love you my friend. I will always love Quaint Handmade. But like you I know when it's time and will embrace the future. xoxoxo Meg
